Transit Lounges For Support Each Step Of The Way

At Jetpets New Zealand, we proudly offer our own purpose built Transit Lounge, allowing your pet access to priority check-in as soon as they arrive at the airport. Our friendly team of Pet Handlers are also stationed at these Transit Lounges to provide the tailored care and support for your pet to ensure they feel comfortable, safe and secure. Plus, in the event of a delayed or cancelled flight, our Transit Lounge is a backup solution for your pet to rest until their next flight is ready.

Experienced Pet Handlers

Our professional Pet Handlers at Jetpets New Zealand undergo extensive training, hold years of experience and most importantly, have a deep love for animals, ensuring every pet’s journey is a comfortable one. We offer in-home consultations to provide expert advice on choosing the right pet travel crate size, as well as other considerations when preparing your pet for travel to Germany. On the day of departure, our Pet Handlers ensure your pet receives plenty of care, attention, and walks, guiding them through all check-in procedures at the airport with ease to ensure a stress-free start to their journey.

What Happens At The Airport?

  • The captain of the aircraft is aware that your loved one is on board their flight
  • The captain will set the temperature to approx. 18 degrees Celsius so that the animals are comfortable
  • The cabin is dimly lit so that your loved one can see what is going on around them
  • What we feel and hear in the cabin of the plane is the same as what animals experience (except in a travel crate they have much more legroom than us!)

Frequently Asked Questions About International Pet Transport to Germany

Q: Are there any breed restrictions for pets entering Germany?

Germany has certain regulations for specific breeds of dogs including restrictions on breeds that are considered “dangerous” such as:

  • Pit Bull Terriers
  • American Staffordshire Terriers

The team at Jetpets can help check the most up to date regulations in Germany when planning your next international pet travel journey to clarify any breed-specific rules or restrictions.

Q: Will my pet need to undergo quarantine upon arrival in Germany?

If all necessary documentation such as vaccinations, microchips, etc. have been met then typically quarantine is not required for pets that travel from New Zealand to Germany. Jetpets can help with the paperwork organisation process to ensure everything is accurate and complete to avoid delays at customs.

Q: How far in advance should I prepare and book my pet’s move to Germany?

For a pet travel move to Germany, we recommend booking your pet’s travel at least six weeks in advance. This allows ample time to complete all necessary paperwork, documentation, health checks, vaccinations, as well as to book the most direct and comfortable flights for your pet. Securing your pet travel service early also helps in arranging any special accommodations your pet might need.

Q: What vaccinations are required for my pet to enter Germany?

Microchipping and rabies vaccinations are the primary requirements. The microchipping should be implanted first (with an ISO-compliant 15-digit microchip) with the rabies vaccination administered afterward – at least 21 days before travel to Germany. Jetpets will help ensure your pet has all the necessary vaccinations and health checks prior to departure.
