DAKOTA the COCKER SPANIEL
Hi Emily
I have been amiss not emailing sooner - been settling the animals down for the past few days. All in the transport went really well. The dogs and cats although a little stressed out arrive safe and sound. As for bringing them to China. For other expats the advise is really simple ... make sure they have a garden (its invaluable - as I don't think an Aussie dog would adjust too well to a high-rise life) and understand the seriousness of what you are undertaking. China is very much a go out and about life. If you are not serious about investing time with your animals within their home then to be honest I think you would be better off not bringing them. The other thing to realise is that there are lots of "badly trained" dogs in Beijing. Many of the smaller breeds are very aggressive and not safe to pet. This really does mean you have to be super sure your dog is trained well, as the Chinese are timid of dogs as a whole, and are nervous when you walk by with one - and

CAMARO the GOLDEN RETRIEVER
I wanted to thank everyone there for making sure that our little Camaro arrived in Canada happy and healthy. She is gorgeous and bounced out of her crate without a care. You made this whole process so easy and problem free. I will heartily recommend you to anyone wanting to import a dog.
Thanks so much. CathyMARCH 2007
LUCY the SCOTTISH TERRIER
Dear Emily,
We would just like to say a big thanks for organising the safe travel of our Scottish Terrier Lucy from Sydney to join us here in Caracas. It was a very long and complicated trip but thanks to you all at JetPets she arrived happily and hassle free. All of the paperwork was in order and we were able to speak to the staff in Buenos Aires, where Lucy had to overnight, on a regular basis to check on her status.
Felix from Venezuelan Pet Movers did a great job in organising her pickup from the airport. Sometimes things here don't always go according to plan but Felix was able to secure Lucys “freedom," even though the flight was an 11.30pm arrival, well outside of normal business hours. So, we'll be in touch in a couple of years when we move home!!
Best Regards, Catherine, Andrew, William, James, Henry and of course Lucy NichollMARCH 2007
POKEY AND OSCAR the JACK RUSSELL TER
yes, the 'two little princes' have arrived in Singapore and as I write this they are sitting at my feet ........ they dare not let me out of their sight!!
Jet Pets in Melbourne were the people that transported them and they were fantastic, always letting us know what was happening and when. We were kept informed at all times. The vet (from Jet Pets) went to our daughters home last Friday to check them over making sure they had their microchips, all injections up to date and give them their flea treatment etc, then on Monday morning at 8.00am Jet Pets arrived in a van to place them in their respective 'cages' to take them to Tullamarine where they were again ' checked over' and kenneled overnight ready for the flight the next day.
They were taken to the airport in the afternoon in time for the Qantas flight (QF9) departure at 5.00pm. I really don't want to know how they coped during take off or even the flight itself, I can just imagine Pokey would have been planted flat on the floor of his cage, shaking! Mind you I was not much better here in Singapore as I waited for their arrival. 🙂 The plane landed at 9.06pm (due at 9.30) and by the time they went thru customs then driven out to Bukit Batok, it was 11.15pm.
Mitchville K9 Kennels were the people handling everything at this end....they also were very good at keeping us informed as to time of arrival etc. They called us the day before to make sure we would be home (with our boys arriving, where else would we be??) and to let us know the ETA. Then once they were picked up the driver called to let us know he was on his way. So we have been VERY happy with the service provided by Jet Pets and Mitchville K9 Kennels. ....... and of course, we are VERY happy to have "our boys" with us here in Singapore. Whether we have done the right thing in bringing them to here, time will tell. We will do our best to make sure they are happy and as comfortable as possible.
